So I’m Alive and Thankful
as sound bends in our utterance of banal gestures and enquiries
we determine the grey lucidity of our lives encounters unwittingly
our posthumous agenda to allow our betrayed quotas some breath
decipher the spaces in-between fragile raindrops as each impact reintegrates
such softness in the cushion of armour buttressed stillness… realisation
the countenance of, we… it steps beyond the eye we chose to see
So I’m Alive and thankful?
as air departs its surface to waken to touch
It’s filled with the moulding of holding easing to differing contours
the kindred mute that ceases to bay because it’s yielded to truth
from the unfettered brute dancing in elk tanned shoes, the ravage of youth
the silence of our minds request to connect without jest… internalisation
this shift from I to you, them, we are in each other finding it easy to be
So I’m Alive and thankful!
muse of abnormalities normalcy enthralled by fantasies of culled realities
cocooned by the sweet timid notion of non-narratives potion
we see the reflection of our generations blank space
our need to be in finding the essence that leaves indelible sense
of these indescribable pains caused by life track rails etching ails
you hold fast to I and we shroud us to be bothered and feel
So thankful I am alive!
while the wicker is set to uphold the dew framed by… abstraction
the prophet approaches the pew to deliver the perfect docket
our reaction to each other leaves less bother in so far as we are
who we say we are, less the determining of other self’s disillusion
we turn and say hello!, swiftly asking…. how are you?
I say alive and thankful…. in your life lies mine in varied mirror facets

The simple fact that I’m alive means I am thankful. It could always be worse
